My Timeline

6:32 AM
April 27, 2012- Tim proposes to me via romantic postcard at the Hopkins Antique Mall! One of the best days of our lives, and a long journey begins.

May 2012- Start Pre-Cana counseling for our December wedding!

July 2012- Begin NFP/Creighton training with our wonderful practitioner. Learn so much that I think my head might explode! Begin charting. Tim is very patient and supportive throughout the whole process, and even helps me chart.

August 2012- Practitioner suspects PCOS. Meet with Creighton-trained doctor for a series of blood draws and ultrasounds to check on my hormones and whether or not I am ovulating. Doctor puts me on a cocktail of Vit D, Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc, Vit C, and Vit B Complex. Notice positive changes in my body after one short month!

September 2012- Results start to come in, but they are inconclusive. Although I will later learn that my testosterone was fine, as were my ultrasounds, my doctor still tells me that she suspects PCOS. Confused, but can't focus too much on this because I have a wedding to plan!

December 2012- Tim and I are married. We are finally husband and wife, and we are overjoyed!

January 2013- First BFP. Tim is not convinced. I retest two days later, and sure enough, another BFP. I am officially pregnant! Wow, that was fast!

Late January/Early February 2013- Begin having unusual symptoms. Finally go to the ER, where an ultrasound reveals an empty sac. Wait another week and a half. Diagnosed with a blighted ovum, and schedule a D&C for the following week. Mom flies in from Chicago to be with us during this difficult time.

March 2013- Starting to heal, and trying to think positively. OB suggests that I have an HSG, as these early ultrasounds revealed that I might have a bicornuate uterus. HSG is successful--my OB assures me that I definitely do NOT have a uterine septum (wrong). I do, however, have a bit of scar tissue on the left side from my D&C. Schedule second D&C a week later to remove tissue. Head is spinning from the many tests and diagnoses. Celebrate the second anniversary of my first date with my husband, and enjoy this special milestone as a break from the chaos.

April 2013- Healing, resting.

May 2013- Positive thinking and lots of praying!

June 2013- BFP, again! Overjoyed, certain that this will be our lucky pregnancy! (Also the time when I start this blog--but I keep it private until March 2014).

July 2013- After some strange symptoms, and a series of misdiangoses at the ER, I am anxious and confused. I pray intensely for many days and nights straight to see my baby's heart beating. At my 8 week appointment, I see just this. Praise God, my baby is doing just fine! Head to Charleston with my family for a week and have a great time; I love being with my family, and I bask in the glow of my amazing pregnancy.

Late July 2013- Second ultrasound reveals no growth and no heartbeat. We are shocked, and devastated at the thought of repeating the process we had just finished. Schedule D&C, and ask for God's comfort and strength, knowing that we cannot move forward alone.

August 2013- Begin RPL testing and pray that God's will be done.

October 2013- Move HOME to Chicago! We both accept new jobs and relocate to be permanently closer to our families. Overjoyed!

November 2013- Meet with new Creighton-trained Catholics OB and R.E. Suspect endometriosis. Receive letter back from Pope Paul Institute with same suspicion. Decide against Omaha for financial reasons and agree to move forward with laporoscopy done by my new R.E. Stage I-II Endometriosis discovered and removed--possible septum.

December 2013- Hysteroscopy for septum removal. Septum discovered and removed; was taking up over 30% of my uterine cavity. Start 30-day course of estrogen and progesterone, schedule first round of Clomid for next month.

January 2014- Round 1 Clomid with progesterone supplementation and ultrasounds--BFN.

February 2014- Round 2 Clomid with progesterone supplementation and ultrasounds--BFN.

March 2014- Sonohysterogram reveals clear tubes, zero scar tissue, and septum 100% resected. Praise God! Husband's S.A. scheduled for later this month.

April 2014- Husband's S.A. "GREAT"! He gloats, and I let him :) Clomid Round 3 scheduled for next cycle.

Late April 2014- My body revolts, and I am more than a week past due for CD1 for no clear reason. Dr. suspects sub-par or no ovulation this month, but I'm not sure why! 2 BFN's add insult to injury. Late start to Clomid Round 3 planned for Good Friday, with progesterone supplementation, ultrasounds, and a trigger shot (my first one)! Nervous but hopeful.

May 2014- Long week(s) of 'testing out' my HCG trigger shot...finally resulting in my long awaited BFP!!!!!! First beta comes in at 187, followed by 698, followed by 1468! Progesterone is in the high 400s! Praise God for this miracle!
