Little Happies...Volume II!

9:47 AM
What an AWESOME start to my day! I just received an email from Amy over at This Cross I Embrace letting me know that I have been chosen as May's Adopt-A-Blogger! I am SO honored...beyond words, really. I will always be grateful for this community of tough, lovely, faithful, super cool ladies that, despite their immense suffering, give of themselves so selflessly. I really look forward to condensing my 'story' into a few short (I promise!) paragraphs, and humbly accepting as many prayers as you feel like tossing my way :) Thanks so much to Amy, and to all of you, for your beautiful faith and incredible gifts-of-self.

On that happy note, on to some more Little Happies from the lovely Stephanie at Blessed to Be! These are kinda random...and quite similar to my initial post, ha! Sorry for the redundancy and boring-ness...they just make me happy, and I hope they make you a little happy, too!

1. FLOWERS!

The first picture is one of the first bouquets T ever bought me (yes, I am a sap). The second is my new little buddy, opening up this weekend for some sunshine (special corner cameo by my headphones). Beauty everywhere!

2. FAMILY!

A shot from the last family vacation we took before I got married. Sometimes I wish we could all stay young forever. Other days, I am grateful for the chance to spend every passing year with these goofs.

3. SPECIAL TREATS!

This picture was taken on an AMAZING trip to Boston to see some of my very best friends. We tried to go to a winery for a tasting, but when we arrived, they were already closed for the day. What followed was drinking a delicious bottle of white wine on the dock nearby, watching the sunset, laughing, and creating wonderful memories. I am thankful for these special 'treats' in life, especially when they are unexpected. And more especially when they include a cold glass of chardonnay! ;)

4. PIZZA! Er no, I mean, FRIENDS.

As you can see, we had the best costumes in the city this Halloween. Although a scantily dressed 'nurse' informed me in the bathroom that my costume was not very 'sexy.' Uhhh, did she even SEE those mushrooms/olives/pepperonis?! And yes, that's my super cool mom in the back row!

5. COMMITMENT

This picture was taken RIGHT AFTER Tim proposed at the Antique Mall TWO YEARS AGO YESTERDAY! I just felt like sharing. And those bowls on the counter that we bought that day became centerpieces in our wedding, and are now ice cream bowls in our new home :)

6. CUTE FACES

This is my favorite picture to date of my husband. He is adorable (I am biased), but not always photogenic. I think I caught him in a moment here ;)

7. SURPRISES

More braggin' on T (don't let it go to your head kiddo). After a crazy tough week, he surprised me by taking me downtown to an amazingly delicious tapas restaurant. We had spare ribs, oxtail ravioli, and a pitcher of sangria. It was a perfect evening, and I felt like a pretty lucky gal.

8. LOVE

Three of my favorite wedding photos. This boy has stuck by me through some pretty rotten stuff. And I truly, truly love him.

Thanks again, Stephanie, for the push to BE POSITIVE even when you don't feel particularly positive!!!

Also, I would like to humbly ask (a little early as it is not yet May, I know!) for your prayers. I am doing my first HCG injection tonight, and of course we know that we cannot control every aspect of this process, but we are SO HOPING that this medical intervention results in our long-awaited miracle!!! I would just ask for your prayers, that God's will be done, and that He gifts me with the grace to accept either outcome. Most of my close friends and even many in my family do not know what is happening, and so, I feel like we are a little low on prayer warriors. If you wouldn't mind lifting your prayers with us today/tonight, we would be SO VERY appreciative!!!

Can I leave this post with a question? So about, the shot itself... I am SO nervous. Do you have any helpful hints/tips/suggestions?! Is it awful? Better or worse than a PIO shot (which I have had before)?! I am trying to stay calm, but to be honest, I am a nervous nellie about it...

That's all I will say about that...back to POSITIVE, WOOHOO!

Prayers for you gals, now and always...

  1. Beautiful wedding pictures! That is so cute, he proposed at an antique mall! I can't believe you have flowers in Chicago already! None in MN. Excited to pray for you this coming month. I hope the HCG does the trick!

  2. I LOVE this post SO much!! SO SO much! First, congrats on Adopted blogger!! I'm so excited to pray for you during May!! Yayyy! That's fantastic. :) Thank you, Holy Spirit!

Also, all of your pictures and stories here are wonderful. Love the flowers, love the impromptu wine on the docks story, love your wedding photos (SO PRETTY!), love your super sexy Halloween costumes, and LOVE that you call your husband kiddo. I call mine kiddo all the time too! So much so that my father-in-law has started calling my mother-in-law kiddo b/c he thought it was cute. Adorbs.

Also, HCG advice: (you may already know this) pinch your skin (in my case, belly fat) before you inject. Makes it feel like the tiniest pinch/prick in the world. Very easy shot! Also, I made my husband do it the first few times and then, when I realized how painless it was, I was able to do it on my own.

I really hope and pray that HCG is the magic touch for you guys!

Thanks for putting a big smile on my face today. This post was great! :D

    1. THANKS STEPHANIE!! Per usual you are the inspiration behind these happies! :) Thanks for forcing all of us gals to focus on the POSITIVE, something so important that can be so difficult! And WOOHOO for kiddo, everyone makes fun of me! Glad to have another in the club ;)

Thanks very much for the advice...the shot itself was not so bad, but the day after, WOAH. Sick as a dog. Finally feeling a bit better today, but I was not prepared for that recovery! Oh well, as I've said before, we are 'all in' so BRING IT ON body!

Thanks so much for the prayers!!! Returning them tenfold!!!!!!!!! :)
