Liebster Schmeibster (Updated & Tagged!)
Well THIS is exciting! Stephanie over at Blessed To Be nominated me for a Liebster Award...wahoo! I can't say that I totally&completely understand what this is, or who 'Liebster' might be, but I am stoked just the same! I will try to answer with the same flair as my girl Stephanie did...a tall order, I know!
(P.S. There is also a distinct possibility that I don't know what I'm doing at all, in which case, oops?)
The Facts (Am I Supposed to Do These, Too?!)
1.) I live in the greatest city in the country...the WINDY CITY!!! (YAYAYA, I am a bit biased).
2.) I swore I'd never move away, but I broke my rule in 2011 for T (aka hubs). We lived cross-town in MN for two years before we moved back to IL.
3.) All seven of my family members have baby blue eyes (my sisters' are arguably the prettiest). T has hazel eyes. What will baby H have?!
4.) I'd rather be a blonde (and I was for my wedding)!
5.) I lived abroad in Sevilla, Spain during the second semester of my junior year. And LOVED IT.
6.) My first pet was a goldfish named Goldie, who lived for over FIVE YEARS. We finally let her go in a nearby creek, because obviously she was destined for greater things.
7.) I wish I had the talent and/or discipline to be a published author. Novelist or writer of short stories, to be specific. I have written short stories for years actually, but they're just for me (you're welcome, world).
8.) As a child, I lived in two different houses on the same block. My parents still live in the second one.
9.) T and I met on C.atholicMatch.com. Did I ever tell you guys that?!
10.) I am obsessed with history. Especially old books (which my dad and I both collect), wartime love letters, and antique postcards (see proposal on my timeline)!
11.) Today, I wish my computer was made of french fries (I'm starving)!!!
And now, onto Stepahnie's questions...

And now, onto Stepahnie's questions...
1.) Why do you blog?
After I lost my sweet girls, I really needed an outlet for my pain. I never expected to find such a wonderful community of Catholic women experiencing similar situations. It has been such a comfort to me! And yes, I like to write, even when no one is reading!
2.) What is your favorite smell?
Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Or Estee Lauder "Sensuous" (raunchy, right?!). Or my husband in clean clothes.
3.) What would you have as your last meal? Include appetizer, main course, and dessert.
That's SO HARD. I will go with a favorite meal instead, because picking a last meal is oh so intimidating. How about...an appetizer of chips and salsa AND chili cheese fries, with some braised short rib/mashed potato/veggie as an entree, and maybe some warm chocolate chip cookies covered in vanilla ice cream and/or some pie a la mode. Followed by a heart attack, I'm sure.
4.) If you could master any skill overnight, what would it be?
Fictional writing. As mentioned above. But, as my dad constantly reminds me, we do not write for fame or attention! Still, I just think it would be an awesome accomplishment to be published. C'est la vie, right?
5.) Who's your favorite Disney character?
Ariel, hands down. "Part of Your World." Gives me chills every time!
6.) What movie did you most recently watch?
Not super smartie, but T and I watched Wedding Crashers on Saturday night (it was on T.V.)...we MAY have laughed once or twice.
7.) What song are you currently listening to on repeat?
"Outstanding" by Gap Band. "Open Your Eyes" by Bobbie Caldwell. "One of These Nights" by the Eagles.
8.) Cupcake or slice of pie?
Both! Who can choose?
9.) If you could have an miniaturized animal as a pet, what would you pick? (For example, John tells me he wants a mini-bear.)
I know this might bring on the hate-mail, but honestly, T and I are not animal people at all. If I could have any additional living thing in my house, it would be a baby. Or two. Or ten.
10.) If you just found out company was coming over in a few hours, what dish would you whip up for them?
Ha! This is so funny, because I've had to do this a few times in the last few months. It's always Chicken Piccata with Garlic/Lemon Spinach. The only thing I feel "safe" with, haha.
11.) Summarize yourself in 4 words. GO!
Short. Catholic. Dramatic. Blessed.
Thanks again Stephanie, that was a blast! Reminds me of those email surveys we used to send around in the AOL days...anyone?!
Thanks to Stephanie (again), I now realize that I must pass this on. So, without further ado...tag, you're it!

1) If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where it would be and why?
2) Tell us about one of your most embarrassing moments.
3) What is the most romantic thing your spouse has ever done for you?
4) What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
5) What is your all-time favorite song?
6) What has been your most creative Halloween costume to-date? (Bonus for pictures!)
7) What are three things that make your hometown special? (This can be the town where you live now, or where you grew up!)
8) What is the craziest dream you've ever had (that you can remember)?
9) If you could be in any great 90's pop music video, which one would it be and why?
10) If you were a superhero, what would your superhero name be and what powers would you have?
11) If you could shout anything from the rooftops right now, what would it be and WHY?!
Have a great day folks!
You didn't bore me at all! That was tons of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, so it's probably my fault that the directions weren't clear because I didn't actually include the directions in my post. Oooops. Actually, I was being lazy. I wrote more details about the Liebster Award in my original Liebster post, so if you wanna see what it's really all about, well, that's where it is. Sorry for my laziness! Ha.
I did not know that you and T met on Catholic m atch. com! Or maybe I did, but forgot!! I did online dating once upon a time too, so I think it's totally cool. And that's how my sister met her husband. It works!!
Every mention of food in this post has me drooling. Can you send me your Chicken Piccata with Garlic/Lemon Spinach recipe??? Sounds amazing! As does your favorite meal. And ya, it would def be your last meal if it ended with a heart attack. :P
Thanks for joining in on the fun! You can write 11 questions and then tag a couple of bloggers (it's either supposed to be 5 or 11 depending on whose rules you read) to answer them! Orrrr, you can just leave it the way it is, 'cause it turned out great. :) But if you want to pass the fun like in the glory days of AOL, then tag away!!!
