Weeks 33-34...MERRY CHRISTMAS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE! I am behind, but with good reason. Man, what a pre-holiday and holiday week it has been.

We have been filling our home and our days and our hearts with holiday spirits in preparation for our Savior's birth. This has included a lot of Mass attendance, parties, baking, and, well, chaos, as usual! But the best kind, as usual.

33 week bump, before my mom's awesome 60th birthday party!

My big girl.

My reluctant models.

And my Kiki bird, sweet as can be.

Tim and Kiki at my mom's party!

The party was a great success! Even though the birthday girl insanely decided to cook for 100 people herself, everyone had a great time and we all enjoyed celebrating this AMAZING lady.

Sibling love!

My sisters and I with our "big sister" Mayra!

Watching her birthday surprise video!

After the party, we did lots of Christmasy things to get the girls excited for the holidays (as if that took much convincing). Including the classic Santa visit at the mall! Check out these naturals.

I'll spare you the photo of Kiki screaming on Santa's lap.

My husband and I also celebrated FIVE WONDERFUL YEARS OF MARRIAGE this past week. We toasted to 100 more in downtown Chicago at one of our favorite restaurants (where we ate WAY too much!) and then climbed into bed at the Wit for a MUCH NEEDED 10-HOUR SLEEP. Haha! Then we had brunch with my sweet friend for her 30th birthday before heading back to our girls.

SO FULL.

Happy birthday, Kels!

My brother Joe has been in town from LA since last week, and the girls and I have been getting as much Uncle Jojo time as possible. He left this morning and we miss him already. Come back and see us soon, please!

Special Christmas breakfast out!

Checking out the sweets counter!

And then finally, FINALLY, the big eve and day arrived. The girls had a blast on Christmas eve and stayed up WAY TOO LATE (including a 4 AM and 6 AM wake up that night, oy) and opened way too many presents. Spoiled, just like we were when we were little! But it was so nice to be with my family and enjoy great food, great company, and a beautiful mass celebrating one of the most special nights of the year. Not to mention...it finally snowed!!!

Loving the snowfall!

The best we could do! Haha!

Merry Christmas from the whole family!

In awe.

Eyeing those presents.

Dancing with my girls!

No mistletoe needed.

Christmas morning was equally special. We made our traditional baked french toast with homemade blueberry sauce, bacon, and coffee, and all sat down as a family to eat...which is rare these days! The girls were so excited about their three presents each including a fox outfit, a toy fridge, a toy mop, and a few other special items. It was amazing to see their eyes light up as they explored their new things...this is the first year that Eileen REALLY understood and was excited about Christmas, and her excitement was contagious to her little sister. They were just a joy to watch, and Tim and I felt so very lucky.

FOX GIRL.

Stockings!

All magic.

CHEESE!

Christmas day was also great, but at this point, we were exhausted. The girls thankfully napped a bit on the way to IN (a 1.5 hour drive) but the adults did not, unfortunately! We ate, opened presents, and played with our IN family, and then left to visit Tim's grandma who lives another 30 minutes away. The girls were about at their limits, and apparently so was I. I had a bit of bleeding and contractions while at grandma's, and had to rush home and pay a quick trip to the ER. All good, and the contractions settled once I was there, but it appears I overdid it a bit. I've been instructed to "take it easy for awhile," but I'm not really sure what that looks like. I will certainly try though...I was extremely spooked by the incident and DEFINITELY do not want a repeat! Promptly upon arriving home from the ER, Tim realized that he had/has the flu. So he has been out of commission all of last night and today, too. Sigh. When it rains it pours, I guess! The classic post holiday daze!

Playing grandma's piano.

Amazed by the snowy view.

Giggles!

My babes.

Someday I will be as cool as she is.

Playing with all of the bows!

Goodnight, Christmas!

And now, we are onto the next phase of the year and our calendar. My best friend, who is also pregnant, arrives with her husband Thursday night for a 4-day stay. I am so excited to see them, but definitely need to try and NOT wear myself out. After that, we have a few weeks of "quiet" (I mean...our version of quiet), and then Eileen's third birthday (HUH?!), and then baby. It will be here so soon. I can't believe it.

I saw the doctor today after my scare last night, and we did a check ultrasound. Everything looked good, placenta hasn't moved and baby was active with a HB of around 133. He is not worried about the bleeding but wants me to relax as much as I can. From now on, I will go every week. Home stretch, baby bud!!!!!!!!

And now for the (almost) 34 week bump!

A snowy Christmas bump!

How far along? 33 weeks + 5 days!
Clothing? Loooots of repeats. Managed to find outfits for Christmas Eve and day, but so glad I don't have look presentable again for awhile. HA!
Stretch marks? Yes!
Sleep? Terrible. Have started having this weird third trimester nausea that keeps me up at night, plus my sick hubs, plus non stop peeing and contractions...gotta be real with ya, this last stretch with this baby has been/will be ROUGH.
Best moment of this week? So so many things. Parties, holidays, anniversaries, laughter, food, friends, love love love! A great few weeks.
Worst moment of this week? The ER was incredibly stressful and so was taking care of my poor sick hubs.
Miss anything? My good health, honestly.
Movement? A lot, and every time baby kicks hard, contractions start. They were picking them up on the monitor at the ER for awhile, not close together, but frequent enough. Need to drink more water!
Symptoms? Lightheaded, nauseous, toooons of contractions, sore back (and everything else), terrible stuffy and bloody noses, light spotting yesterday, and starting to swell. Rough man.
Food cravings? Not much of an appetite this week due to nausea.
Gender? Still feel girl, and feeling a lot of pressure to decide on a girl name.
Labor Signs? Nope.
Belly button in or out? Outie.
Wedding rings on or off? On...for now. But lost a stone from my BRAND NEW anniversary band and I am devastated!
Mood? Happy, but so tired.
Looking forward to? My visit with my friends, my appointment next week, Leen's party, and BABY DAY!!!
I hope your Christmas was magical!
