Week 21!
Hey friends! I do not have many photos to share from this week, because I am struggling a bit. Veteran mamas and mamas with 3, 4, 5, and beyond...you are MORE THAN WELCOME TO LAUGH AND/OR ROLL YOUR EYES. I fully expect that I will feel a bit that way about ladies 'like me' in the future...I know I already do about mamas of 1, or mamas expecting their first! Like, "you don't know how easy you have it, enjoy it now!" But I am still a "newbie" in many ways, so, bear with me if you can! I also want to remember, realistically, what I felt like at this point in time. And, well, this is the truth of it...good, bad, and in between!
Corn (because it was summer this week?!)
Hiding in slides!
As I was saying, yeah, I struggled a little this week. The heat here in Chicago has been unpleasant to say the least, and while I'm all for an Indian Summer, this was not my kinda 'warmth.' Muggy, and above 90 since mid-last-week. I'm not sure if THIS is what has sapped my energy (even more so than before), or if it's just this big baby in my belly...but either way, I have been dragging myself out of bed every morning and legitimately struggling to wake up from afternoon naps! The other day, Eileen woke up before I did and she came into my room where I was asleep. She climbed into my bed and I woke up, started talking to her, and literally fell bask asleep while I was talking! She thought it was a game! She laughed and shook my arm and said, "mommy?!" waiting for the punchline...oh child, if only there were one. So so so sleepy. Oh well. Life goes on.
This is what my life consists of these days...babies constantly lifting up my shirt to kiss "baby Bud" and poke me in the belly button, haha!
We had a bit of a hiccup in the beginning of the week...a plumbing problem that caused our dishwasher to overflow, flood our kitchen, and leak through into our basement ceiling. Charming, right? Then the plumber was late...and it cost a fortune...etc. But the week is looking up from there! We've been distracting ourselves with fun stuff and powering through the sleepiness because...well, there's no snow on the ground yet!
Donuts!
See-saw (a very sweaty see-saw, but still)!
NAPS.
AND NAPS, AND NAPS.
As we speak, Eileen is rolling around in her big girl bed trying to avoid said naps...please baby, mama needs her rest, too!
And here's the big ole bump! Doesn't look huge here, but trust me, it's sizeable. This is right before my lovely pre-natal massage this weekend, a wonderful surprise from my sweet hubs.
How far along? 20 weeks + 6 days!
Clothing? Moving into fall clothes, finally! And I have quite a bit of those, so that's good. But maternity jeans are not feeling great these days...I much prefer leggings, and probably always will.
Stretch marks? Yes.
Sleep? So, so, so, so tired. And getting up a lot to pee. So, not great, but whatever!
Best moment of this week? Feeling a few more wiggles this week, which is great! Loving the change in weather today. And my massage...heaven!
Worst moment of this week? The plumbing disaster was a real bummer, and Eileen has been rotten lately! But I think I'll keep her anyway.
Miss anything? Doing fine.
Movement? It is increasing little by little, which I just love!
Symptoms? Light-headed, tired, and definitely starting to waddle. Ha! Also have been having random bouts of rapid heartbeats...hate that.
Food cravings? Lately, looooots of sweets. That's new, it's usually salty!
Gender? I honestly feel so torn. No strong feelings like I've had in the past.
Labor Signs? Nope.
Belly button in or out? Outie.
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Mood? Stressed this week, but I know it will pass.
Looking forward to? A fun FALL weekend with my family, finally! And a long-awaited date night with Tim this weekend!
