THIRD TRIMESTER, FOLKS!
Yes, yes, we have arrived. How is this possible?! It feels like just yesterday I was announcing sunny to the blogosphere. And yet, here we are in the home stretch. Praise God. Feels great.
The look she gives to all the haters.
So, it's all downhill from here right?! Ha! I just got done re-reading my 27-week post with Eileen, and I am feeling ALL of those feels and all of those symptoms tenfold. Truly. Babies (and toddlers) rock your world in the very best way, but do not let anyone tell you it is easy!
Pure mischief!
I have been trying to keep things moving, but I am really slowing down in a big way. Actually, in an effort to be honest, whenever anyone asks me "how are you feeling these days?" that's my answer. "Oh, we're slowing down a bit." I guess that's not even honest, because we are actually slowing down a lot. I am still having trouble with my blood pressure (quite low for whatever reason) and I get light-headed and dizzy if I'm out and about too long. I am also having mega problems with my back, which is funny because I'm a little lower weight-wise than I was at this point with Ei (though not by much, really). So we haven't been doing too too much. We have also instituted "no TV mornings" at our house ever since I noticed my cutie pie becoming a TV zombie, so, needless to say, things have been pretty "quiet."
Yoga sleep pose.
...if things can be both quiet and crazy at the same time. For example, the nice weather has made it ESSENTIAL to get outside and walk, at least a little bit.
Stoked to be outside!
Stoked that we can wear our poncho instead of our coat!
Stoked to try out the new double stroller!
I have also been trying to pull the new nursery together, slowly but surely. You may recall that we transformed our very old 3-season porch into a bedroom over the summer, and that will be where sunny will sleep. I have a lot of ideas for a really cute black-and-white gender neutral nursery, but less time to execute and plan than I had with Ei. Still, baby steps, and it is coming along! Major kudos to my mama for her help, she is so dang crafty. Why didn't I inherit those skills?!
New crib, all set up and ready!
Dresser, to be painted and glammed up with some new hardware.
And, of course, took a much needed break with my mama this weekend to see GILMORE GUYS LIVE, which did not disappoint! My mom is not a hardcore Gilly like I am, but still, she enjoyed what she understood and drank a few beers for both of us. I feel so lucky to have a mom I can hang out with, and hope and pray to have the same relationship with Ei someday!
Other than that, not a ton to report. I can't believe we have TWELVE WEEKS TO GO. Holy cow. Seriously, someone pinch me!
On to the bump-age!
It took me several takes to snap a pic that did not highlight my double chin.
How far along? 27 weeks + 3 days. WHAT WHAT!
Clothing? Wore my maternity SHORTS for the first time today! Not a pretty picture...haha!
Stretch marks? Yeah. The other night T asked me if I had spilled something on my stomach. I looked at him strangely and then it dawned on me..."you mean my stretch marks?" "oh, is that what those look like?!" Sheesh.
Sleep? Increasingly worse. Rotating at night is hard work, and the pee breaks are laborious...ha.
Best moment of this week? GG live was a blast, so was the Dowton Abbey finale with my fam, and of course my daily quality time with Ei cannot be beat!!!
Worst moment of this week? Oh, truth be told, I STILL worry about this baby. Trying hard daily to battle anxiety and keep fears at bay. Jesus, I trust in you!
Miss anything? Nah!
Movement? I feel like sunny has slowed down a bit this week, but I have also been on my feet a lot. Still, I get regular rolls and kicks which I love. The RIB PAIN has also started, foot in my ribs perhaps?!
Symptoms? Getting BIG. Hard to shave my legs, etc. Rib pain is bothering me, so that's no fun. Sore and achey, just in general, especially my belly and pelvis. Still quite light-headed and dizzy. Heartburn has kicked in a little. Started dropping and spilling things like crazy, and I hate being even MORE klutzy than I normally am! And hands and feet are swollen!
Food cravings? JUICE. Like, all kinds, all the time.
Gender? I am feeling more confident that it's a boy these days. Any bets?!
Labor Signs? Nope, thank goodness.
Belly button in or out? Out and gross!
Mood? Exhausted. HAPPY.
Milestones? THIRD TRIMESTER!!! Entering spring (unofficially), sunny's birthday season!!!
Looking forward to? My 28-week appointment next Wednesday, results of my glucose test before that, and...sunny's birthday!!! I don't think it's too early to start saying that!
This week's pregnancy-small-talk-gems (aka things other people say to pregnant ladies without thinking): “You have 12 weeks to go?! Woah, you look...BIG." -friend of my mom's.
Peeps, tell me something I don't know.
Modeling her new bow, and those baby blues...I love my girl!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK, EVERYONE!
3rd Trimester Awesome !!
